Dr.Yamamoto
was born and raised in Hawaii and attended Iolani School. She received
her medical degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School
of Medicine. She completed residency training at the University of Hawaii
in 1998 and is board certified in internal medicine. She is versed Japanese
and is able to converse with Japanese speaking patients.
She is a member of several medical organizations including: The Hawaii
Medical Association, The American College of Physicians and The Christian
Medical and Dental Society.
She has hospital privileges at Kuakini Medical Center, Queen's Medical
Center and Kapiolani Medical Center and Kapiolani Medical Center.
Dr.Yamamoto is a general internal medicine doctor. The scope of her practice
includes the treatment of general medical conditions of adults, including
problems such as:
simple colds
bronchitis
pneumonia
asthma
diabetes
high blood pressure
heart problems
skin problems
endocrine
gastrointestinal
joint problems
bladder infections
simple gynecological problems
other illnesses
Her special interests include preventative care, women's health issues
and cross cultural medicine. Because she is a general practitioner, if
you have a condition that should be treated by a specialist the appropriate
referral will be made.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, play the guitar
and read. She has special inerest in the Japanese culture, being that her
mother is from Japan. She took 10 years of Japanese language school and
tries to speak it whenever she can. She was able to work at a hospital
in Japan during her residency.
